Your reputation will play a major role in your success. Make sure you promote real opportunities and reliable products only.
Most people don't realize that they can be held legally accountable for statements they make about the products or opportunities that they are promoting. Even if they are simply repeating what they've been told. If it's false, there can be legal ramifications. Make sure you can back up anything that you promise with facts.
